Glass Bird

Glass Bird
You landed on a branch
High above my head
I thought you were a Blue Jay,
Looking closer
You were made of glass; in shades of blue and rose
Graceful, powerful, serene
You soar, spreading your glass wings wide
Catching the wind
Then gently gliding down
To land upon my shoulder
Heavy and with purpose, you sing
“Reach beyond your Reach”
Before flying towards the sun
Icarus would have been proud to have our wings of glass

A poem adapted from a dream.
Dedicated to Linda
