“In Black and White” –
PORT CREDIT, ON – At iMAGEMAKER Gallery from March 2 to March 31, three talented local photographers, Annette Seip, Fernando Resende and Ann Ivy Male, will be showing their work in black and white. The artists’ reception will be held on Thursday, March 5, 7 pm – 9 pm.
It has been said, “The most colourful thing in the world is black and white, it contains all colours and at the same time excludes them all”. Vikrum.
In black and white photos, the viewer is compelled to see details and feel emotions without the distraction of colour. “To see in colour is a delight for the eye, but to see in black and white is a delight for the soul”. Andri Caldwell.
For Male, her camera becomes her sketchbook drawing minute detail from our natural environment. Resende, who worked for several years as Art Director for Toronto’s top fashion, lifestyle and interior design magazines, experiments with printing his images on unusual materials such as plywood and metal. Seip tells stories with her manipulated photographic images, always leading the viewer somewhere beyond the picture in front of them.
Join us on Thursday, March 5th at 7 pm to enter a land of black and white and feed your soul.
